A one-day online workshop dedicated to control and AI fields, called Group of Global Excellence (GoGE), was held via Zoom on this November. This workshop was organized by three laboratories of Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Seoul National University, which are CDSL, Nano/Micro Systems and Controls Laboratory, and Robot Learning Laboratory. It was supported by Brain Korea program of the Korean government.
Several students of CDSL participated as speakers in this workshop. Hyuntae Kim and Seungbeom Lee introduced their results in model reference Gaussian process regression and authentication of inputs for distributed linear system, respectively.
The workshop also included four invited talks by internationally recognized professors who are experts in AI and control theory. Prof. Ibrahim Volkan Isler (University of Minnesota, USA) presented his work on building robots for agriculture and home automation. Prof. Aneel Tanwani (National Center of Scienctific Research, France) also delivered a talk on singularly perturbed systems with frequent jumps and its application to networked control system. Prof. John Lygeros (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland) introduced the concept of data-driven control and presented data-enabled predictive control. Finally, Prof. Yongsoon Eun (Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology, Korea) showed methods to derive inverse of linear systems using data-driven approach. Overall, it was a great opportunity to share creative ideas on AI and control theory.
